The trouble with men (or so lots of the ladies in my classes tell me) is that they are soooo hard to make cards for. I have to say that I rather enjoy making masculine cards - but then I have 2 brothers, 4 step brothers, 4 sons, my father, step father & husband - so I guess I get a lot of practice! LOL. With that in mind, I was glad to come across
Magic Diva's Thursday Challenge, which it seems is a fabby new challenge blog! This week the challenge is to make a masculine card, so in true Blue Peter style, here's one (OK, two) I made earlier. The front of a 6" square card blank is trimmed by 2" off the right & a page coaster is mounted centre top. The greeting is mounted on to a scrap of wood effect paper (attached to the card with foam tape for depth) and a 3" strip is also adhered on to the inside right. Although this is a Father's Day card, it could easily be a birthday or retirement card - just by changing the sentiment.
The second card uses up some scraps of heritage scrapbook papers - a simple cut & stick sort of card. This one is a get well card but again - just change the sentiment & it is a good all-round masculine card. I'm not a great fan of peel offs but I have a huge stash that I want to use up. It's the same story at the store, where I'm clearing them all out at 10p per sheet - to make more room for new goodies! So if you are looking for a bargain or two -
check this out (UK residents only I'm afraid!)
